What to Check Before Calling About a Walk-in Cooler Problem
Safe observations before calling about a walk-in cooler temperature problem.
When a walk-in cooler is not holding temperature, clear observations matter. These notes can help service start with useful information without asking staff to do unsafe repair work.
Safe observations

- Record the current box temperature and the usual set point.
- Check whether the door is closing fully and whether the gasket looks damaged.
- Look for visible ice, water, or blocked airflow without removing panels.
- Take photos of the controller display, door area, and evaporator area from a safe position.
What to avoid
- Do not open electrical controls.
- Do not adjust refrigeration valves or refrigerant lines.
- Do not remove covers or force defrost procedures unless qualified.
- If product safety is a concern, follow your business food-safety procedure and contact service promptly.
Helpful details to send
- Equipment type and location.
- Model information if visible and safe to access.
- Photos of the equipment, display, and visible symptoms.
- Your city in the Kelowna or West Kelowna area.
